Maumee needs to make more inclusive decisions for all income levels, races, physical abilities, gender, age, preferences, etc. Maumee needs to make it a point to create a community that supports the ability to work, live or play by uniting the community with multi-use spaces. Maumee also needs a way to connect the community as a whole through all modes of transportation (walking, biking, and lastly driving). We need a community that places the safety and well-being of people first.
Street trees
More narrow and fewer lanes of traffic
Protected pedestrian sidewalks and bike lanes and more bike racks
Bump outs for crosswalks
Connect the city across the AW Trail divide (pedestrian bridge/crossing guards during school hours)
More drinking fountains & public restrooms (especially helpful to women & children)
Complete sidewalks by connecting sidewalks on every street in Maumee
Lowering speed limits saves lives
More 4-way stops
Bike rentals that interchange with downtown Toledo and suburbs to connect our area
Form-based zoning code with mixed-use zoning
Accessory Dwelling Units, no min. sf building requirements, & neighborhoods that intermix small, medium, and large homes removes classism and creates more affordable housing for all
Public transportation options
